Like every year, this year too Mr. Alan Koh visited us and held another successful seminar in Mumbai.
The IYP Seminar by Mr. Alan Koh (IYP, Singapore) has become an annual event on the Indian yachting calendar – and adds value to users of IYP’s vast and renowned range of products.
On 7th of July, the seminar was held at the Anchorage, Royal Bombay Yacht Club, Mumbai from 10AM onwards unto lunch thereafter.
The highlight of the seminar this year was be the practical demonstration of anti-fouling application on a boat’s hull viz;
1. Surface preparation for application
2. Primer application
3. Antifouling application
Cdr. Dilip Dhonde, one of the few sailors who have solo-circumnavigated the globe graced the occasion with his presence. His boat – S/Y Sagar Parikrama – used International Yacht Paint products extensively on the top-side, and he confesses that on his return after 8 months of sailing, one of the first observations compatriots made was that his boat was looking as good as new.
Alan Koh, demonstrated the use and application of primer and anti-fouling paint on one of the local sail-boats with the club’s courtyard, and entertained a flurry of doubts from the crowd.
