INDIAN SAILING TEAM TO SET FIRE IN CHINA – India Asian Games ’10 Selection Trials Unfold

The selection trials for the match-racing team to represent India at the forthcoming Asian Games have just been concluded.
While 11 teams participated in the heats, the semi-finals was abuzz with the Indian stalwarts at the helm such as Farokh Tarapore, Mahesh Ramachandran, Aashim Mongia and Nitin Mongia.

The final of Match Race Trials was raced under light breeze. Tarapore sailed with a five member team (Atool Sinha, Balraj Yadav, Shekhar Yadav, Trunal Helegaonkar), to take on the Asian Sailing Championship 2010, Bronze medallist team of Mahesh, Nitin, Dhulaji and Neeraj Sharma.

Farokh Tarapore  won the YAI’s Match Racing Trials for Asian Games 2010 in Mumbai with a 3-2 victory over Mahesh Ramachandran.
The selection process for the Optimist,  Laser, 470, HobieCat will take place in May off the Mumbai waterfront.
